TIS' THE SEASON TO GIVE BACK


The Crexent Business Centers, providers of office outsourcing, or executive suites, will be hosting a holiday gala entitled “The Gift of Giving” on Saturday, December 5th, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. It will take place at The Quadrant Commons Business Park (one of Crexent’s properties) located in Jacksonville in the Atrium of Building 1.

‘Tis the season of bowties and ball gowns, and this event will be no exception. This black-tie charitable affair is for the most praiseworthy cause, as all proceeds will be donated to Hope Haven Children’s Clinic and Family Center.

Hope Haven is a nonprofit organization that serves children, young adults and families with a variety of educational, developmental and mental health needs.

“We are eagerly anticipating this very special evening that is sure to be a highlight of the holiday season,” said Albert Fils, president of The Crexent Business Centers. Our hearts are full at the thought of donating to such a worthy recipient as Hope Haven.”

Dashingly donned guests will be treated to heavy hors d’oeuvres and an open bar offering beer, wine and champagne. Donated raffle items and giveaways will add a dose of excitement to the evening. Most of all, a spirit of generous giving will warm the air, characteristic of this time of year.

Start training for the Halloween Half Marathon and adventure weekend.

Stuart, FL., October 1, 2009—Race enthusiasts have begun their training schedules, preparing for Martin County Parks and Recreation’s Halloween Half Marathon. Along with cooler weather and seasonal community festivals, fall marks the time of year for the annual Half Marathon. This year’s race is on October 25th and is included as the final excursion in the October Weekender Adventure Package offered by Parks and Recreation.

Hundreds of local and visiting athletes will run in the Halloween Half Marathon starting at Jensen Public Beach. “The race, which begins at 6:30 am, is known as the best half marathon on the Treasure Coast, with a beautiful course through Sewall's Point and along Martin County beaches, the Intracoastal Waterway and over the Stuart and Jensen Causeways,” said Jesse Moore, race organizer and Martin County Parks and Recreation’s Sports and Athletic Coordinator. The first 200 racers to register receive a free, commemorative t-shirt and all finishers will be awarded a medal. Refreshments will include bagels, bananas, beans and rice. The Halloween Half Marathon is sponsored by Fleet Feet, Sailfish Striders and The Crexent Business Centers. The cost to participate is $40 per racer.

The October Weekender Package is set for October 24th and 25th. The activities consist of a trip to Indian RiverSide Park and the Maritime and Yachting Museum on Saturday from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The cost includes entrance into the museum and participants can spend the day relaxing on the riverfront beach and in the interactive fountain. The Saturday evening excursion is a trip to the Lyric Theater in downtown Stuart for a rock and roll concert by the Cadillac Bratz. Sunday morning is the Half Marathon starting at Jensen Public Beach. The October Weekender Package price is $55.00 per person for all three exciting excursions.

Latin Chamber of Commerce of the Treasure Coast, Inc.

The Florida Regional Minority Business Council announces its FREE International Trade Training Program.

The program, under Workforce Florida's Quick Response Training Program (QRT), will provide FREE training for "new to export" and "new to market" Minority Business Enterprises in South Florida to prepare them for international trade opportunities.  Companies will learn to identify international trade opportunities, prepare and evaluate market analyses, understand the logistics and documentation requirements including certifications, acquire trade financing, and take advantage of services provided by the private and public sectors. 

 

These classes are FREE to business owners and will begin on July 21st and end on August 30th on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8 pm at Miami Dade College North Campus.  Subsequent classes will begin the 3rd Tuesdays of each month.  Each participant will attend a total of four (4) classes to receive a certification of completion.

The Crexent Business Centers recently hosted the first Crexent Round Table Discussion at the company’s Jacksonville site, Quadrant Commons. Q: What is The Crexent Business Center?

A: The Crexent Business Center has provided Class “A” office space in South Florida since 2002. We provide several office programs including Executive and Corporate Suite Programs plus Virtual Office Packages.

Q: I’ve heard the term Executive Suites before but what is an Executive Suite at The Crexent Business Center?

A: An Executive Suite at The Crexent Business Centers provides Clients with the use of a fully furnished office which includes a receptionist answering your phone calls with your custom greeting. The use of conference rooms, a fitness gym, free parking, 24/7/365 day access, state of the art telecom system, janitorial service and free Coffee. All for a fraction of the cost a regular office and the additional costs associated with them. Also the term of our agreements are short term, so the usual liability associated with the opening a traditional office which normally require a three or five year agreement.

Q: What is a Corporate Suite?

A: They are normally suites larger then our Executive Suites, usually around 300 to 2,000 square feet. These suites are full service meaning they include electric and all traditional charges such as common area maintenance fees. They do not include the same services we provide in our executive suites. They are geared to a more traditional office space clients but provide added flexibility with our short term agreements.

Q: Virtual Office sounds a little strange can you explain?

A: These are packages for clients who don’t need a full time office but require a business address to impress. The packages start at providing a business address and receiving mail and packages for the clients. To answering their phone calls and sending them directly to voice mail for remote access or to the client home or cell phone. We also offer packages with Conference Room and Part time office use.

Q: All these programs and packages sound great, what program or package would you suggest to our readers here in Mexico?

A: Depending on their needs I believe we have very attractive packages for your readers. If you’re trying to expand your business and want a business presence in South Florida, I would suggest a virtual office at first. If you want a satellite office from the start an Executive Suite might be a better solution? Fully operational office with the flexibility to expand to a larger office as your business grows. Summer Slam Jam 2009

Stuart -- Martin County Parks and Recreation Project Northland, Teen Advisory Committee (T.A.B.) and the Children's Services Council are partnering with the City of Stuart and the Crexent Business Center hosted this Key West-themed Summer Slam Jam 2009. Summer Slam Jam is a diverse event consisting of local profit and non-profit vendors and crafters, games and rides, a free snack shack, local entertainment and demonstrations in the band shell, as well as the concert on the main stage. "Project Northland was brought to Martin County eight years ago due to the high percentage of drug and alcohol use among teenagers. In 2002, our county was leading the state in teenage alcohol consumption and second for Marijuana. Events like Summer Slam Jam that promote healthy and safe recreation for teens, are important to the community”, and explains Darcy Von Ohlen, Prevention Coordinator for Project Northland.
